Meet Kate, one of our amazing Foot Care Nurses who make a difference in the lives of local seniors all year round!
As we celebrate Foot Health Awareness Month, here’s what Kate had to say about what it’s like putting nervous clients at ease, so she can help their feet feel good again:
“There is always a little bit of apprehension when a stranger comes to you and says, I’m going to touch your feet, I’m going to do this, that, and the other to your feet, and you might feel a little uncomfortable,” she explains, “It is very personal, a very intimate experience, especially if you’ve got tickly feet!”
How does she put seniors at ease if they feel a bit too awkward at first? She takes time to sit and chat in a location that makes them comfortable, and typically once they get to know her, they are more willing to offer up their feet!
“We’re not going to do anything you don’t want us to do,” she explains, “And in the end, we’re on the same team and we want your feet to feel good!”
