Medications & Pharmacy Services

Your medications are managed with care by our team of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). All prescriptions are filled and individually packaged by Lawtons Drugs contracted pharmacy provider to ensure safety and accuracy.

To help us manage your medications properly:

  • All prescription and non-prescription medications must be supplied through our pharmacy.
  • If you have medications from outside (including over-the-counter items like vitamins, herbal remedies, or cold medicine), they must be approved by the Ocean View Physician before use.
  • Residents are not allowed to keep medications in their rooms.
  • Please don’t take any medication that hasn’t been prescribed specifically for you—even common items like aspirin or cough syrup can be harmful.
  • If you receive medication from a doctor, specialist, or family member, please give it directly to a nurse.

Some medications may not be covered under the Provincial Pharmacare Program. If a medication is considered non-formulary or non-funded, a nurse, pharmacist, or Neighbourhood Manager will contact you or your loved one to discuss private payment options.

If you’re planning to go out for a visit:

  • Let us know ahead of time.
  • We’ll prepare your medications and instructions for the time you’ll be away.
  • Be sure to pick them up before you leave.
