Press Release – April 6, 2020
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have committed to keeping our community members informed. To that end, we want to inform you at this time that we have received confirmation of COVID-19 in our facility.
In response to this development, we have implemented our Pandemic Outbreak Plan immediately. This plan involves cohorting impacted residents in one unit at Ocean View, which will create a safe space to care for individuals who are ill, and reduce the spread of the virus throughout the facility.
We are working with officials to determine if residents or staff have been affected. We are taking full precautionary measures as directed by Public Health and we are working closely with the Department of Health & Wellness and Nova Scotia Health Authority to ensure the safety of all.
We wish to thank our community for their continued support at this time. We are grateful to all those who are taking the pandemic seriously and doing everything they can to prevent spread of COVID-19. We are also so appreciative of our staff, who are working hard to follow all infection prevention and control practices and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
