A Day to Celebrate!

Day to Celebrate!

We are so happy to report that our Covid-19 outbreak is officially over today. And coincidentally, today is the beginning of the lifting of some Public Health restrictions-so yet another reason to celebrate as we learn to live with Covid.

Everyone is welcome back!

Designated Caregivers and Visitors are no longer required to show proof of vaccination.

When you arrive at Ocean View, you will enter the front door, sanitize your hands as always, and apply a fresh mask.

Because we are considered a high risk facility, you will still be required to wear a mask at all times throughout the home.

Next you will complete a self screen in process-there will be no screener present at the desk.

Please fill in your name on the form and answer the questions.

Please do not visit our home if you have had Covid-19 symptoms in the past 48 hours.

Please do not visit our home if you have travelled outside of Canada and you have been advised to isolate.

Please do not visit our home if you have been told that you are a close contact of someone with Covid-19.

Please do not visit our home if you have tested positive for Covid-19.

WE are strongly recommending that a maximum of three people visit a resident at a time so that you will not put your loved one’s roommate at risk in the small footprint of most rooms.

If you would like to have a special gathering with more than three people, please call Reception at Ocean View (565-6020 ) and book a larger space for a visit or occasion involving more than three people.

For these gatherings, you may close the door to the room and family and friends that you have invited may remove their masks while behind the closed door.

Upon conclusion of your visit, please remember to hang the sign on the door signifying that the room is ready to be cleaned in preparation for the next gathering.

You can also take residents out into the community for visits or special occasions. Or on a bright sunny day an adventure outside, close to home, on OV property might be uplifting. For outdoor visits, masks may be removed.

WE so look forward to welcoming you back to a closer to normal Ocean View than we have experienced in a long time.

Many of us have not worked at OV when there were not two screening tables-so for us the ambience of the front lobby has improved significantly. I hope that you can come and experience it for yourself very soon.

Thanks to all for you enduring patience-better days ahead.

Cheers to All.
