At Ocean View we believe that providing our clients with comfort, care and compassion is about more than the simple necessities. It’s about helping them feel a sense of calm and safety in a home-like environment, it’s about helping them find purpose through engaging activities, and it’s about making small improvements that make a big difference in the way they experience life here day-to-day.

Ocean View started actively fund raising in 2002, and since then our donors have contributed to many projects in support of the care, comfort, happiness, safety and well-being of residents living at Ocean View. Thanks to generous contributions over the years, Ocean View has been able to fund some pretty significant projects, the following are a few of our accomplishments:

Renovations to our Neighbourhood Kitchens to support a more home-like meal time for residents.
Creation of our Bethune Garden, a dementia-friendly garden where wandering is encouraged!
Purchase of a new Resident Bus to allow meaningful and exciting outings into our local community.
Creation of the new Deveaux Room, a private room for Palliative Care.
Purchase of much-needed Resident Equipment to improve day-to-day life of residents.
Subsidies for Programs to increase support for seniors living in our community.
A variety of Beautification Projects to help Ocean View feel more like home.

Corporate Gifts and Support

Ocean View benefits greatly from the kindness of corporate partners and local businesses.

There are many ways businesses can contribute in a sponsorship capacity.

Vendors may simply want to make a donation to purchase a piece of equipment or contribute to a current fundraising campaign. You may wish to fund existing or new programs, take advantage of ‘naming opportunities’, or sponsor an event aimed to raised funds for Ocean View.

It’s about helping seniors feel a sense of calm and safety in a home-like environment. It’s about helping them find purpose through engaging activities that are meaningful to them. It’s about making improvements, big and small, that improve the way they are able to experience their senior years. As the number of seniors needing support in Nova Scotia continues to grow, resources to offer the quality of life described here for our seniors are increasingly limited. Ocean View Foundation strives to support Ocean View with the funds needed to offer this vision of comfort, care and compassion to those they serve.

In Memory / In Honour Of Donations

In Memory Of donations are for family & friends choosing to leave a financial gift “from the heart” in memory of someone who has passed away.

In Honour Of donations offer a chance for family & friends to honour a living loved one. This type of gift can be made to honor someone who has recently achieved a great accomplishment, to mark a special occasion or holiday, or for someone who simply doesn’t need more physical gifts! It is the perfect option for the ‘person who has everything’ on your shopping list!
