Job Summary:

The In-Home Support Worker supports clients living in nursing homes.  Some of these duties will include:

  • Providing meal assistance
  • Assisting clients to/from/during scheduled activities
  • One on one client support
  • Answering call bells and supporting clients with requests
  • Tidy clients rooms and changing bed linens

The In-Home Support Worker will also support individuals living in the community by providing assistance in a client’s home.  This will include:

  • House cleaning
  • Meal preparation
  • Pet assistance
  • Outing assistance
  • Personal care

Qualifications:

  • Minimum eighteen (18) years of age with demonstrated experience and relevant education.
  • Food safety training required (training will be provided if necessary).
  • Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable working with seniors with varying levels of abilities.
  • Experience in maintaining a clean environment.
  • Able to attend work on a regular and consistent basis.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team.
  • Current clean criminal record and vulnerable sector checks.
  • Experience or training in this field (i.e. PSW, training in feeding, etc.) would be an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle an asset.
  • Ability to work shift work

Pandemic Rates: $15.75 – $18.00/hour

Rotation: Days/evening shifts

Please be aware that this position will be working in our members’ homes and nursing homes who may have pets.
