No Baked Goods, Please

Outbreak of E. coli Infections Linked to Various Flours and Flour Products

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued food recall warnings advising Canadians of various flours and flour products under brand names Brodie, Creative Baker, Golden Temple, and Robin Hood, which were produced by Ardent Mills. Canadians are advised to not eat or use any recalled flour or flour products. No cases have been reported in Nova Scotia yet and Ocean View has removed potentially unsafe food products.

Please help prevent illness: We love that our families bring in food and gifts for residents. At this time, please help us ensure the health and safety of all our residents and do not bring any homemade baked goods. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Cold & Flu Season is Here!

The approach of cooler weather, also marks the time when Influenza and the stomach sickness start to rear their not-so-pretty heads.Let's all help keep everyone safe by following the following precautions:

  • Clean your hands when arriving and before leaving with the alcohol based hand rub, found on the wall in many locations, or with soap and water in the washroom
  • Do not use the resident’s washroom.
  • If you do need to cough or sneeze, use a tissue and then dispose of it, or your upper arm, and clean your hands.
  • If you visit an ill resident, please do not visit other residents. If this is necessary, visit the ill resident last.
  • If it is absolutely necessary that you visit when unwell, or you have any questions please see a licensed member of staff.

Let’s all have a safe and healthy winter.
