Job Summary:

As part of the leadership team, Ocean View is currently seeking a highly motivated individual who has strong management and interpersonal skills, leadership ability, and several years’ experience working in a healthcare setting.  Reporting to the Director of Food Services and Clinical Dietetics the incumbent is accountable for managing the day-to-day operations of the Food Services Department; managing fiscal, human and material resources; identifying and implementing innovative approaches to achieve departmental objectives; active participation on teams and committees; food and equipment procurement and, maintaining compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements. 

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Nutrition Post-secondary degree or recognized course in Food and Nutrition Management.  
  • Experience in Food Service Management in a unionized environment
  • Current certificate in Advanced Food Safety training
  • Knowledge in managing fiscal budgets and human resources
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills 
  • Demonstrates creative problem solving ability; ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines and committees to achieve excellence in care
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office Suite especially Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis

Salary Range: We offer a comprehensive compensation package including: a pension plan, attractive health benefits plan, and a competitive salary.

Hours of Work: The regular hours of work for this position are intended to be 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. Given the scope and responsibility of the role, on-call availability/flexibility may also be required at times.
