At this time, Public Health has asked that we share this important memo to all Designated Caregivers:

At this time, we are happy to report we continue to have confirmation of only one case of COVID-19 in a staff person of our facility, however we continue to be considered in “outbreak status” and are taking full precautionary measures as directed by Public Health. We continue our robust infection prevention and control practices, including a heightened focus on hand hygiene, physical distancing, and wearing of masks. Visitation to Ocean View also continues to remain closed until further notice as a result, including Designated Caregiver visits.

Public Health has asked that we share this important memo to all Designated Caregivers:

As per the attached memo, Public Health is asking all Designated Caregivers to make an appointment for testing via the link/number in the attachment above, out of an abundance of caution. It is our understanding that when you arrive at the Assessment Centre for your appointment, you should please alert the team there that you are a Designated Caregiver with Ocean View – they will have an Outbreak Number related to our facility that will identify your test as high priority.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have committed to keeping you informed. We are also committed to ensuring the health and safety of our clients, staff and community. We want to inform you at this time that we have received confirmation of one case of COVID-19 in a staff person of our facility.

In response to this development, we immediately notified Public Health, Nova Scotia Health, and the Department of Health and Wellness. We are following Public Health direction and moving forward with contact tracing and swabbing/testing of residents and staff.

We are taking full precautionary measures as directed by Public Health, and will continue all of our robust infection prevention and control practices at this time, including a heightened focus on hand hygiene, physical distancing, and wearing of masks. Visitation to Ocean View will remain closed until further notice, including Designated Caregiver visits.


How you can help:
Please continue to prevent spread of COVID-19 in the community at large by washing hands frequently; avoiding touching your face; respecting physical distancing and gathering limits; taking advantage of the opportunity to be vaccinated if you are able; and following all other advice shared by Public Health.
