SUMMARY:Coffee House at the Old School Featuring Vince Morash & James Crouse
DESCRIPTION:June 29\, 2018 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm \nThe Old School Community Gathering Place PO Box 185 7962 Hwy 7 Musquodoboit Harbour \nJoin us at our monthly Coffee House at The Old School Community Gathering Place from 7 PM-9 PM the last Friday night of the Month. We suggest a minimum $5 donation\, and youth under 18 are free. Refreshments are available. \nFor the month of June we are featuring “Put The Kettle On” \, Vince Morash\, James Crouse and Pixie Currie. \nHosted by Jim Reid. \nTake a prolific singer/songwriter and a gifted musician and put them together with a stand up base player and fantastic repertoire of original songs and you get the perfect combination for any stage. \nVince Morash was raised in Nova Scotia’s iconic fishing village of Peggy’s Cove. His years in a seacoast village\, combined with a life travels across Canada have given him a unique perspective. In his huge collection of original tunes\, the subject matters varies from the challenges of making a living as a coffee shop server (CoraLee)\, to the reflections of parents of a fallen soldier ( When a soldier falls)and a myriad of themes in between. His songs are a reflection of everyday life and some can bring a tear to your eye\, from sorrow or laughter. \nAs a musical partner\, there are few musicians as versatile as James Crouse. His expertise on the guitar and vocal harmonies enhance any song like a breeze filling a sail on a schooner. \nPixie Currie will anchor the show with a steady up right base beat on some tunes and assist with harmonies on others. \nAfter much laughter and wringing of hands from throwing around potential band names we have chosen the name “Put the Kettle On”\,stolen unceremoniously from Ann Fearon’s song of the same name. \nContact:\n\nLeslie Savoy\n\nPhone:\n902-889-2735\n\n\n\nWebsite:\nwww.theoldschool.ca/coffee-houses\n\n \n\nOrganization Website:\n www.theoldschool.ca \n\n \n\nContact Email:\n oldschoolmh@outlook.com

SUMMARY:Official Canada Day Fireworks Presented by Dartmouth Crossing
DESCRIPTION:Jul 1\, 2018 10:00 PM \nOur spectacular fireworks show is back on the Halifax-Dartmouth Waterfront! Thanks to our Gold Sponsor “The Village Shops at Dartmouth Crossing” for making it possible. The best viewing area is from the concert crowd at Alderney Landing or if you don’t want to be in the concert area\, bring your chairs or blankets to the green space along Ferry Terminal Park! On the Halifax side we recommend the waterfront area near the ferry terminal down to Casino Nova Scotia. \nDartmouth Waterfront
