(Volunteer Management/Communications/Fund Development)

Rotation: 12-18 month temporary full-time, Monday-Friday 8a-4p (Some Flexibility). The anticipated start date for this position is no later than May 01/2023

Ocean View works in a larger social enterprise that currently consists of 2 long term care homes (Ocean View Continuing Care and The Birches Nursing Home) and Port City Home Services. Our passion is achieving the highest quality of services in a client/resident and family centered care model. We are currently recruiting for a Director of Community Relations to join our team.

The Board of Directors recently approved an ambitious strategic plan and we are looking for a seasoned individual with an eclectic background to join the team.

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Community Relations will provide operational and day to day leadership for our valued volunteers as well as support all our communication/public relations objectives, and coordinate fund development in conjunction with the Board of Directors of Ocean View Foundation.

We are searching for candidates with the following:

MUST HAVE:

  • A minimum of 2+ years in a role managing internal and external communications is required.
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline preferably communications or public relations.
  • A passion for quality and making the world a better place, especially for seniors.
  • A proactive vision for long term and community care for seniors
  • A passion for listening to varying views and perspectives and promoting an inclusive workplace.
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid drivers license as local travel is required.

NICE TO HAVE:

  • A Master’s Degree in Health/Business/Public Administration or Communications/Public Relations.
  • Previous experience in recruiting and managing volunteers.
  • Experience with fund development is preferred.
